Sprue of the Week 1 - Guards!

Welcome to the first instalment of Sprue of the Week!

In this type of article, we break down some of the fantastic options available to you on an individual or group of sprues contained in one of the many boxes available to choose from!

This week we look at the Guards available from Wargames Atlantic - Link Here!

In a full box, there are four sprues, each sprue contains enough parts to make 6 miniatures giving you a grand total of 24 miniatures!

The diverse range of options available allows you to build a host of miniatures including Templars, Knights, Marksmen, Archers, Infantrymen and many many more.  There's a tonne of options to choose from to make each miniature unique with Bodies and Heads representing various types of armour from none through to heavy.  This makes for a fantastic set to make a complete warband.

Here are some examples from the website showcasing what you can make!  Example one shows a Thug, Infantryman, Thief and a Man-at-Arms.  Brilliant options straight off.
As with many boxes, this one offers a lot of potential as an individual set, but could quite easily be mixed with other sets such as the Villagers for a more diverse range of mercenaries.

Work in Progress - Elves of Frostgrave!

Welcome!

I thought I would kick things off with showing some progress shots of my WIP Elven Warband for the upcoming Frostgrave Campaign.

I wanted to have plenty of options, so I have more than double the amount I could ever field at once!

The Kits I used were the standard Female Wizard box for my Wizard and Apprentice.  For the rest of the Warband I used the Heavy/Light/Unarmoured elves from Oathmark.  This allowed me to create a diverse range of miniatures to suit different styles.  While I lack certain weapons like Crossbows for example, I don’t feel they really fit the theme of what I wanted to achieve anyway.

The next step will be getting the bases prepped and then getting some paint on the miniatures.  I also have to start putting a background together for the Warband and detail some of the names etc.

Any feedback in the comment is most welcome!
